Here are 3 templates that counsellors working with children and young people could use as a more visual aid and way of communicating the counselling contract. There is a blank one where you could fill in your own information or questions. There is one with key questions included. The third has key questions but added pictures / symbols. There is a black and white version and colour version of each of the 3 templates. Play therapists may also adapt the templates for their work with children and young people.

Let’s celebrate friends and friendship with these 5 activities including writing an acrostic poem and listing 5 things that make a good friend. There is an example of an acrostic poem included, with writing frames for each activity.

3 pages of ideas to inspire children to make their own well-being posters. Link to your work on Body and Mind, emotions, friends, Mental Health awareness, Anti - Bullying and ourselves. Each page shows colour ideas with phrases or words that relate to well - being. There is a black and white template included for children to use to create some of their own ideas on.

A useful end of year assembly or / and class resource about Transition. This is a good discussion to find out about any anxieties your children may have about Transition, Moving On or Change such as moving to a new class / year group or school. The slides can be used with small groups or the whole class and focus on positive things as well as those that may be a little worrying for children. The last slide is an activity sheet, that can be printed off, for children to express their individual thoughts and feelings around Change and Transition. You can change the headings as appropriate for individual needs or your class. The PPT can be used with Primary children of all ages and those with SEN. You can add in extras in this PPT format such as photos of old classes, fond memories etc.

A power point presentation to share with young children encouraging them to talk about keeping safe and road safety as well as observing sings all around. Slides 1 to 4 show colour images and words that children can name and discuss their meaning. Slide 5 can be printed off as a worksheet and asks the children to write about how to cross the road safely. Slide 6 is a table of some of the vocabulary the children could use in their writing or learn as part of their topic work. Slide 7 is a colouring sheet - children can colour this in or use it as a stimulus for making their own Road Safety doodle sheet or poster. Link this work to any topic on safety, ourselves or transport.

Here is a format for children to self review their year. Sheet 1 asks some questions that children might consider in writing their reviews. They can come up with others of their own. Sheet 2 and 3 are 2 versions of a template that children can write within. Suitable for all primary school children.

Children love to collect their friends (and teachers!) autographs at the end of the school year. Here are 14 examples of front covers and 14 examples of insert pages that children could use when making their own autograph books. Something for all the class to make them individual. Pages can be printed onto card or pasted onto thin card. Make 1 or 2 holes using a hole punch and attach a coloured ribbon or string for decoration.

A set of communication cards for young children or SEND children. There are two versions . These children shown are all boys (Girls version to follow in future). Set 1 and 2 show boys sharing how they feel when unwell. Set 3 and 4 shows pictures of what can be done to support them. The last page is a blank template for you to use.

A poster to remind children to wear face masks at appropriate times or places.

Here are a collection of worksheets that teachers or parents might find useful when talking about the virus and helping children to make sense of what is happening at the moment. There are 2 sheets with pictures for children to talk about and write about. Children can design their own poster, write a story, make a sign, write a letter or a card to an NHS worker, design a MAGIC hand wash, create a warning sign, design a virus emoji and write in the speech and thought bubbles about feelings and emotions.

3 worksheets showing ways of keeping safe and healthy. Includes signs, hygiene items and current rules regarding the Pandemic. Pupils read and match the words and pictures and discuss the ways of/reasons for staying healthy and looking after ourselves.

Links to Community, Jobs, Occupations, comprehension and word work. Children name, discuss and label the jobs in the 12 pictures. Children read the sentences and find out which occupation each one describes. 3 and 4. Word work - children read and match name of occupations with pictures or tools and equipment that may be needed in each job. A colour and label sheet. Children can choose to label with occupation names or equipment/tools names.

This is an animated PPT with 2 activity sheets as a follow up. Jo is thinking ahead to what job she would like to do, but she cannot decide what. There are 20 animated ideas to choose from. Children watch the PPT and help Jo to decide on a job they feel would be suitable. The slides are animated so the children will delight in watching the job ideas on the TV, The activity sheets are at the back: A writing frame for children to write their choice of job for Jo and their personal choice. They then draw these job choices. Activity sheet 2 is for children to colour and label all the choices of jobs. Extension activities include data handling - how many children chose the same or different jobs? What is the most popular job? Do a class or year group survey. 30 photograph cards showing people, family, occupations and leisure time. These are a useful speaking and listening set of cards. The cards can be grouped in different ways e.g. 3 images of a family, 3 of Santa or grouped in terms of female, male or musicians, outdoor workers etc. A good resource for those learning to speak a language or on discussions around People who help us, Ourselves or World of Work.

10 pages with 2 ‘flags’ to a page make up this classroom display bunting banner. Each ‘flag’ contains a message or phrase such as inspire, be brave, dream big and wake up and be awesome. Children will be inspired by this to create their own bunting and positive messages.

A resource showing 11 colour photos of various activities or occupations. A useful resource for speaking and listening and conversations when learning to speak English. Sheet 1 shows the 11 photos. Sheet 2 lets pupils match the occupations to the words and discuss objects or equipment that might be associated with each activity or occupation.
